“GTA V” is almost six years old and has become one of the most influential video games of the modern era. So it’s no wonder Grand Theft Auto fans are already longing for a successor. But when will “GTA 6” be released? How about a potential story? We’ve summarized all the rumors and information so far, and we’ll also tell you what we think under “GTA VI”.
On September 17, GTA 5 celebrates its sixth birthday with the launch of Rockstar Games’ open-world action game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. About a year later, it was the turn of the current consoles before the PC was released in April 2015.
Although the developers owed us an extension of the story, the main fifth of the series still enjoys incredible popularity, mainly thanks to its ingenious multiplayer mode “GTA Online”. So it’s no wonder that fans of the series are already looking forward to seeing the successor, GTA 6.
By the beginning of the year, the rumors of current and former employees of rock stars have condensed to around one-sixth. The number of leaks is increasing and although the big announcement of E3 2019 has not materialized, we would like to summarize here all the rumors and tell you what we expect from “GTA VI”.
When will GTA 6 be released?
Between the dates of publication of the three-dimensional parts of the “GTA”, there were usually four or five years. Rockstar Games has already exceeded this period. The developers filled this gap with the outstanding Red Dead Redemption 2, which last year won almost every prize a video game can win.
In addition, since “GTA Online” continues to enjoy popularity and is regularly updated with new content, it was not necessary to publish a “GTA 6”. Therefore, Twitch-Streamer Shroud expects a release in the next two or three years.
We also assume that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will probably be released in 2021 or 2022. Rockstar will certainly look forward to the release of the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles, the latter scheduled for Christmas 2020.
Already in April 2019 rumors were circulating that “GTA 6” could be released exclusively as an initial title for the PlayStation 5. If this were true, Sony would have managed to take the big step.
At the same time, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, revealed that from now on they want to publish games faster, but with less content. Does Part Six really appear in the launch of the new consoles? Either way, we’re not going to see a new part of the series before the end of 2020.
