For more than a year, Google Maps in Android provides a feature that allows users to share their locations, routes and estimated arrival times of their trips in real time with their selected contacts.
Now, this function begins to reach the users of the iOS platform.
Therefore, users of this platform who are moving to another location, be it on foot, by bike or by car, can already use this feature in a similar way to Android users, where they have to select their contacts in advance and the time period during which they will share their locations in real time.
But this feature will also be improved as it now allows users to reach the contacts they have in third-party applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Line and the like.
This confirms the intention of this feature to allow users to be wherever they are at any time when they’re traveling, without constantly looking at the mobile device to provide safety concerns to their friends.
Users must upgrade from Google Maps to the latest version which is already available in the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
