Google Maps will now also share the battery of our contacts

If you use Google Maps to share your location with friends and family, a new option will appear on some accounts: the battery level will appear on the map.

That’s right, both our battery and the contacts we have on the map will be displayed along with the remaining information, so when we share a location we will also let you know how much battery time we have.

The goal is to help you report whether we have a long or short time before the location information is inaccurate because once the battery is gone, the location we are at is no longer displayed and the last recorded location is displayed.

With the new update, as indicated in Android Police, we will know why no one called us to tell us that they got lost or finally arrived at their destination, reducing the worries we have every day when looking for someone’s location.

The new feature was first introduced in February when we saw the beta version of Google Maps v9.71, now we can see the new feature in the iOS and Android versions of the application today.
