The latest cars have compatibility with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, the two platforms for Android and iOS cars. In an unexpected twist during the developer event, Apple announced the arrival of more mapping applications for CarPlay.

This completely opens up the world of CarPlay to many users, since in most parts of the world, if we ignore the USA, Apple Maps is a mapping application with less information than the Apple solution.

Even Google Maps suffers from applications like Waze, specially designed to be used while driving and that allows you to know in advance traffic jams, accidents or problems on your route recalculating in real time another faster route.

With iOS 12 coming up next September, you can use Waze or Google Maps directly on your car dashboard screen. The integration is expected to be exactly the same as Android Auto’s, although these applications will need to be updated.
