Android Auto, Google’s intelligent travel assistant, is updated and has interesting features that allow faster and safer access while driving. This Android application also comes with a new design in the media interface.
Google recently announced the new update to the Android Auto application, which will include some changes to the driver virtual assistant interface and the integration of new search features that will make the user’s navigation much safer.
Changes to the user interface include a message preview that allows you to display the first 10 characters of text when the vehicle stops. This is to avoid distractions.
The preview shows a subject line, the sender’s name, and a summary of the message.
New interface
The media interface appears in a new design on the album cover. It now has a thumbnail view of the cover art, along with the artist’s description and theme.
This new design makes navigation easier for the user, who can move up using the arrow-shaped cursors but also has a drop-down menu in the upper left corner.
The arrow above opens a more visual interface to browse through the media options. This feature will be available in Google Play Books, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, Pocket Casts.
Voice Search and Group Messaging Settings
According to Google, voice searching will be improved in this new update as well, because when users request music of a certain genre from the wizard, it will display search results for artists and albums.
According to Android Police, it should be noted that this functionality is not optimized. Because “sometimes the Assistant doesn’t identify or understand unusual names when you ask for a particular song or album”.
Android Auto also supports applications that use MMS and RCS, so drivers can take advantage of messages, hangouts and WhatsApp applications with group messages.
Google expects this Android update to be released on the Play Store in the next few days. However, you can download the latest version of APK Mirror from this link.
