Gigabyte is a brand now famous in the PC hardware sector with products ranging mainly in the field of Motherboards and Video Cards; now, however, the Taiwanese giant has decided to launch into the tough SSD market with its new line SSD UD PRO.
Gigabyte Presents New UD PRO SSDs at Very Competitive Prices
The goal of Gigabyte is to bring to the market efficient and durable products, which is why the term UD used by the company would be for “Ultra Durable.”
Being SATA 2.5 SSDs with RAM DDR3L are products suitable for the ordinary consumer market and not to compete for example with the recent SSD M.2 970 Pro / Evo launched by Samsung a short time ago.
The new UD PRO SSDs will come in two cuts of 512GB and 256GB respectively and will offer the eye a clean and straightforward design thanks to an exterior of a substantial lead gray with the Gigabyte logo in white.
The advantage that these SSDs offer, however, compared to other competitors lies in the fact that they use NAND 3D Flash memory that allows the introduction of a DDR3L Buffer Cache to speed up the read/write processes of the SSDs.
On the nature of the Gigabyte SSD controller, however, he preferred not to spread more information.
Compared to other SSDs without this new buffer CSD, UD PRO SSDs are twice as efficient even when the memory is close to full capacity.
Also, IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) are 16 times faster than the competition without a Cache Buffer.
The built-in DDR3L memory allows the user to take full advantage of the disk’s storage memory without sacrificing disk quality and performance.
The manufacturer’s testing of the durability of these SSDs has also proved amazing with near-perfect results.
Jackson Hsu, director of the “Gigabyte Channel Solutions Product Development” division, commented on the announcement of this new line-up:
“SATA interface SSDs are mainstream and have a considerable development history. The challenge is to develop a product of exceptional quality that stands out from the rest, GIGABYTE UD PRO series SDDs are a testament to our strict adherence to producing high-quality products. With DDR3L RAM, 3D NAND Flash memory, 256GB or 512GB storage capacity selections, the UD PRO series SDDs offer users a high performance, high stability, and high capacity product choice, without sacrificing flash memory or performance.
The new Gigabyte UD PRO SSDs will be available next week at competitive prices of $119.99 for the 512GB model and $68.99 for the 256GB model.
Very important to specify is the full insurance coverage of 3 years or 200TB of “written data” offered by the manufacturer.
