GIGABYTE Introduces B550 AORUS: Native PCIe 4.0 and USB 3.2 Gen2

GIGABYTE presents its new B550 AORUS motherboards. They will be compatible with Zen 3 and bring new features that may be interesting to you.

Motherboard manufacturers are already introducing new features for the AMD B550 chipset, which will support the next generation of Ryzen Zen 3. In this case, GIGABYTE will offer ATX and mini-ITX solutions for the B550 AORUS series. Among the most exciting new features are PCIe 4.0 and USB 3.2 Gen2 support. Here are the details.

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS: A sure bet for Zen 3

We’re really looking forward to “getting our hands-on” these motherboards because GIGABYTE is a brand that many of you rely on. The Taiwanese brand has already prepared everything for the 3rd generation of Ryzen, so their B550 AORUS motherboards will be equipped with PCIe 4.0 support and native USB 3.2 Gen2 interfaces.

Chris Kilburn, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Customer Business Unit, said

We see that users are demanding more flexible systems that work well for a variety of tasks, from games to content creation.

With the overwhelming platform support from our GIGABYTE partners, AMD is confident that these B550 platforms will deliver unprecedented flexibility and performance.

Key Aspects of GIGABYTE

So it didn’t take GIGABYTE a second to prepare its B550 AORUS motherboard catalog. We will see models for all budgets and configurations. In particular, the Taiwanese have thought about overclocking and the importance of VRMs, so they will be of high quality.

To put the finishing touches to this detail, they will offer the B550 AORUS PRO, high-end models equipped with fin array heatsinks. This will give us colder VRMs and a more powerful option for extreme overclocking. His showpiece for this chipset, on the other hand, will be the B550 AORUS MASTER, which will be perfect for enthusiasts.

In theory, all B550s will have PCIe 4.0 support, which will benefit SSD M.2. A direct on-board pre-installation will be available for this type of SSD as thermal protection for proper cooling. Let’s assume that the AORUS MASTER model will have 4 M.2 slots, which gives the possibility to create a RAID 0.

In terms of connectivity, there will be no problems with any model, and GIGABYTE will continue to offer Wi-Fi in some models as usual: B550 AORUS PRO AC, B550 AORUS PRO AX and AORUS MASTER. These cards will have an Intel Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax configuration with a 2T2R antenna. All this will result in speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps.

As we said at the beginning, with the USB 3.2 Gen2 interface, you’ll have the latest in I/O: 10 Gbps transfer via USB port type C. For those of you who are worried about the BIOS, we have Q-Flash Plus technology throughout the range to upgrade it seamlessly: no processor, no memory, no GPU, no PC boot.

Finally, Fusion LED RGB lighting will continue to be available, supporting LED/RGB strip lights, Smart Fan and more.

What do you expect from the new B550 board range from GIGABYTE? Are you waiting for them? Are you missing something?
