Gigabyte today introduced a new motherboard, Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350. That is just like Raspberry Pi in physical dimension but quite different in technical data. That features an Intel Celeron N3350 Quad Core CPU with integrated HD 500 graphics and a single SO-DIMM RAM slot. That will allow us to install up to 8GB of DDR3L memory. The processor has a base frequency of 1.6Ghz with a turbo frequency up to 2.4Ghz, while its size slightly exceeds a Raspberry Pi with measures of 146 x 102mm.
Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350 Detailed Specifications
Thanks to its integrated graphics the Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350 is capable of facing 4K @ 30Hz video through its HDMI port. And it has two Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect. Unfortunately, it does not have built-in WiFi. But thanks to its two PCIe slots it should not be a problem to install an expansion card that adds this feature. Another good news is that the board has SATA connector and two SATA 3 ports, so adding a conventional hard disk will not pose any problems.

The rear connectivity is completed with two USB 3.1 Type A ports. There is a VGA port on this little motherboard and an audio jack that extracts the audio from the Realtek ALC255 controller. That provides dual-channel audio to the set. Of course, the new Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350 is compatible with Windows 10 64 Bit. That will make it easier to install any software.
Price and Availability
In a final picture, we have also been able to see how the Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350 is presented along with an entirely flat heatsink that covers the entire back area of the PCB.
Diskio Pi An Open Source Tablet Powered By Raspberry
Gigabyte wanted to implement differential elements in this motherboard. And the main one is RAM, which, unlike other solutions, is not soldered directly to the motherboard. That is you can install any of the modules in the market up to a maximum capacity of 8GB. The only problem with this board regarding RAM is that it only supports one module, so we have the limitation in this regard.
DACBerry ONE 32 Bit Audio For Raspberry Pi
This Gigabyte board will hit the market next month and is considered a relatively serious competitor concerning the Raspberry Pi. But it seems that this board will be much more closed, being a private plate, which we can use to develop projects under Windows 10 or GNU/Linux. The biggest difference between Raspberry Pi and Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3350 is quite remarkable, as far as possibilities are concerned. But even so, they are an attractive alternative to each other.
