GeForce 398.86 solves the problem with G-SYNC and Windows April 2018 Update

Some users of Nvidia had problems with their G-Sync monitors, as the update of Windows on April 10, 2018, caused G-Sync to stutter in window mode and thus eliminated one of the main advantages of G-Sync technology. GeForce 398.86 HotFix solves this problem.

So Nvidia was aware of this problem and worked on it. As a result, the recently released GeForce 398.86 hotfix driver includes all the benefits of GeForce 398.82 WHQL.

This driver is intended for Windows 10 users only, as the hotfix is designed to minimize a pure Windows 10 error. So, Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 users should continue to use the Nvidia WHQL GeForce 382.82 driver and do not need to upgrade to this version.

The drivers have all the benefits of the previous WHQL driver, including support for World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth and Monster Hunter World, as well as support for SLI profiles with Black Ops 4 games and World of Warcraft itself.

Even though it may not look like it, there are many players who need to play in windowed mode for various reasons, probably to play games and be aware of other tasks, such as surfing the Internet or chatting with their contacts while playing. That’s why this G-SYNC error could be so annoying.

On the other hand, Nvidia seems ready to receive two of the next major PC versions, World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth and Monster Hunter World, with the hope that they will be well optimized, especially the latest one.
