Gamescom 2018 has opened its doors. Before the announcements of the games and the unveiling of the trailers, Nvidia organized its conference. During the event, the company presented its new graphics card series.
The 2018 edition of Gamescom will be launched. The programme, of course, includes announcements of games and content, but not only. Nvidia is the first company to take advantage of a conference to introduce its new line of GeForce RTX 20 graphics cards. In view of the statements about their power, they are enough to make the virtual reality enthusiasts dream.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 20: The first major revelation of Gamescom 2018
With the new GeForce RTX 20 series, Nvidia wants to revolutionize graphics in video games (once again). If the capabilities of these graphics cards adapt perfectly to virtual reality, every player would like to own one. Three models are announced: first the RTX 2070 (8Gb RAM), then the 2080 and 2080 Ti (11Gb RAM). Each will be available from 20 September at a price that is far from being modest. In fact, they will be worth 639, 849 and 1259 euros. While the performance of the machine is crucial for some, it is clear that the new Nvidia graphics cards will not be accessible to everyone.

What distinguishes these machines most from their predecessors is a new architecture: the Turing. Ray tracing”, a calculation technique that offers a particularly impressive representation, is used here.
In particular, Nvidia products are able to offer realistic lighting effects. During the Gamescom 2018 conference, the company had demonstrations for the public. Several games have been highlighted, each of which is obviously compatible with future graphics cards. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus, and Battlefield V all benefit from photorealistic lighting effects. If you are an experienced gamer and are not afraid to put your hand in your pocket, the GeForce RTX 20 series should be made for you.
