Sony is preparing for the launch of the PS5 in 2020. This new console will try to repeat the success of the current one, which is already the second-best console in the world. To make this possible, the Japanese company will introduce a number of new features. Although some of the company’s decisions may not please users at all.
Exclusive PS5 games are not compatible with the PS4
Because the games that are exclusively for this console will not be compatible with the PS4. There will be no such backward compatibility in this Sony console.
PS5: No retro compatibility
Just as Microsoft recently confirmed that it would be possible in the case of the next Xbox, Sony surprised by an unexpected step. This is because in that case, the games released exclusively for PS5 will not work with previous generations of the console. There is nothing confirmed, but it comes from reliable sources.
It’s no surprise, though, because Sony followed a similar strategy with the PS4, where backward compatibility wasn’t too important. They focus more on hardware sales, in that sense.
We’ll see if Sony will confirm this news soon and it’s really the case that the PS5 doesn’t allow their games to be used on the PS4. A message that will certainly sadden many users, especially those who, at least for the moment, are not planning to buy this new console.
