ASUS has introduced a new motherboard for Core X processors, the ROG Strix X299-XE Gaming with LGA 2066 socket. It has eight DDR4 memory banks for up to 128 GB at 4133 MHz. And has four PCIe slots to run up to x16 / x16 / x8, two additional PCIe 3.0 x4, and one PCIe 3.0 x1. Up to four graphics cards can be installed in this motherboard in total.

Also, it includes two M.2 slots – one up to 2280 and one up to 22110. It comes with its own heatsinks for the PCIe 3.0 x4 type. Also, it has eight SATA3 connectors, 802.11 ac wifi MU-MIMO, and Bluetooth 4.2. Also, the audio codec is a SupremeFX S1220A for 32-bit and 192 kHz sound, and an Intel I219V Ethernet controller. The board includes two RGB LED strip heads, two for audio pumps up to 15 W. And one USB 3.1 for the front of the boxes.

In addition, the back panel has an Ethernet, a USB 3.1 type A, a USB 3.1 type C, four USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, optical audio output, five 3.5 mm connectors, and antennas for integrated Wi-Fi connection. The motherboard has RGB illumination configurable through the Aura Sync application, flipped on the back panel trim, chipset and a zone that puts ROG under the socket. So, the board is supplied with a strip of RGB LEDs with the Asus logo. Also, there is a 40 mm fan is also included to locate it above the heatsink of the voltage regulators. It gets power with an 8-pin connector and a four-pin connector.
