ASRock announces support for 192GB maximum memory capacity on its Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards.
ASRock Intel 600 and 700 motherboards now support 192 GB memory
DDR5 memory with capacities of 48 GB and 24 GB is hitting the market and manufacturers’ motherboards are being updated to support it. MSI and Gigabyte have already updated their motherboards, and ASRock is the next manufacturer to support this type of memory, reaching a maximum capacity of 192 GB when the motherboard has four DIMM slots, while the maximum capacity was previously 128 GB. This also means that motherboards with two modules can now manage up to 96 GB of memory.
Corsair is the manufacturer driving the introduction of these 24GB and 48GB memory modules with speeds of 5,600MT/s and 5,200MT/s, which are sold in kits of 192GB (4x 48GB), 96GB (2x 48GB) and 48GB (2x 24GB).
Any purchaser of this RAM will need to update the BIOS on their ASRock Intel 600 and 700 series motherboard for the Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors. While it’s unlikely that the average PC user will ever need 192GB of RAM, it’s a memory capacity upgrade that is free to users and can be useful for more professional PCs.
