Apple today unveiled its new iPhone line for 2018, alongside three devices that retain much of the design of iPhone X 2017 with improvements in aspects such as hardware performance, productivity, and photography.
Apple Intelligent HDR Neural Engine
Most importantly, the new iPhone XS camera incorporates two new features that have not been integrated into iPhone X: Smart HDR mode and adjustable Bokeh effect control. Following the company’s official announcement, the extended depth segmentation has been added by the Intelligent HDR Neural Engine, which enables users to capture photos with a wide dynamic range and high level of detail.
In addition, Apple promises that the iPhone XS camera will offer improved Bokeh quality in portrait mode plus a dynamic depth of field that can be adjusted directly from the ” Photos ” application.
In fact, the enhancements and state-of-the-art technologies that Cupertino has integrated into its new device are designed to achieve widespread recognition from the photography professionals.
With its new 12-megapixel dual camera system, Apple boasts double optical image stabilization and 2x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the company explains that its new sensor doubles the speed as compared to the iPhone X camera system.
Concerning Smart HDR technology, Apple explains that it allows you to create photos with a much higher reflectance and deliver more detail in the shadows. It will also increase pixel depth and size thus improving the image quality and fidelity of the captured environment and providing optimal performance in low-light environments.
It offers portrait photos with a higher level of professionalism with the Bokeh because of its advanced depth segmentation activated in iPhone XS vertical mode.
It actually includes a new depth slider that allows users to dynamically adjust the depth of field in the Photos application or later snapshots, where you can create high-level background blur. Apple’s new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available on the 21st of September.
