On Wednesday afternoon, April 25th, the apple bite company has released a new update to its desktop operating system, macOS High Sierra, this time focused on providing greater security to users.
Apple Releases New Security Update for MacOS High Sierra
Apple has made a new security update for MacOS High Sierra available to all users. This new operating system update for Mac (2018-001) corresponds to 10.13.4, and comes almost a month after the first version of macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 was officially released, i.e., we continue with the same version of macOS, but now improved with this security update.
The new security update for macOS High Sierra can be downloaded since yesterday afternoon for free and directly from the Mac App Store (the application store available on all MacOS High Sierra computers already running macOS) via the software update feature.
According to the notes accompanying this release from Apple, the 2018-001 security update is recommended for all users and is intended to enhance the security of macOS. The update addresses two security vulnerabilities related to Crash Reporter and LinkPresentation, which can be used maliciously to gain access to a Mac computer. Also included is an update to Safari 11.1, with solutions for WebKit vulnerabilities.
If you wish, you can find additional information about what is included in this security update in the accompanying support document.
