AMD says Navi will compete with Nvidia’s top model

We hope that within a few weeks (especially during CES 2019) we can find out what AMD is planning for 2019. With its new Navi architecture, expectations for Sunnyvale are high, with a mission to close the gap with its main competitor in the graphics card market.

AMD has suggested that Navi can compete with Nvidia at the highest level

So far AMD has performed much better in the CPU market than Intel, but by 2019 AMD is expected to be “present” with its new Navi graphics cards to compete with Nvidia in the high-end market.

In a PCGamesN report, AMD suggested that Navi can compete with Nvidia at the highest level.

This is quite a bold statement from AMD. Especially if you look at recent history. You could say that ‘Team Red’ has never released anything comparable to Nvidia’s high-end graphics cards. Even his Vega series, which tried to fight the GTX 1070/1080, couldn’t do anything with the 1080 Ti in terms of performance.

Since AMD graphics cards are traditionally cheaper than Nvidia’s, AMD could be a big winner with Navi if they could have a similar experience to an RTX 2080 with only for two-thirds of the cost. Of course, that’s easier said than done.

2019 can be a very good year for the graphics card market, where we need AMD to compete at eye level with Nvidia for more variety and lower prices. Maybe the picture in the CES would make it much clearer. We’ll keep you up to date.
