AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is seen running on an A320 motherboard

We have new evidence that the powerful Ryzen 9 5900X can work on an A320 motherboard. Mainboards with A320 chipsets are inexpensive and can be purchased at a very reasonable price, which is an advantage when building a computer-based on AMD Ryzen.

One of the last manufacturers to confirm that their A320 motherboards could support the Ryzen 9 series (3950X) was Biostar, but so far we have had no news about whether Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X could work with them.

The ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 motherboard is quite cheap and available for about 50 Euro and offers about 6 power phases. These performance phases are modest, but should not prevent the processor from working well. We know that the Ryzen 9 3950X can run on A320 motherboards, so we should have no problems with a Ryzen 9 5900X. Since it is an A320 motherboard, the PCIe 4.0 would be missing.

The good news wouldn’t be enough, as there is also evidence that the Ryzen 5000 processors can run on Gigabyte X370 motherboards without problems. This support would be provided by a new beta firmware.

The limitation of the BIOS to store a lot of information was a problem within the AMD 300 series motherboards, which forced the red mark to get rid of support for some processors to make room for new processors. It is good news that AMD 300 series motherboards still have problems and support the new generation of Ryzen 5000 chips.
