ASRock B450 R2.0, three new models announced for Ryzen 5000

Just like Asus with its own B450 motherboard, ASRock also updates its B450 motherboard series with R2.0 models.

ASRock B450 R2.0 announced three new models for Ryzen 5000

ASRock prepares new mid-range motherboards with an R2.0 upgrade for the B450 series. The update consists of three new models that have been announced. The models are as follows:

  • B450M Pro4 R2.0
  • B450Ma/c Pro4 R2.0
  • B450 Pro4 R2.0

Here we have two micro ATX motherboards and one ATX, which are quite complete on paper and seem to benefit from only one or two differences to the current models.

The main differences to the current models (R1.0) are in the performance and audio stage. ASRock decided to add ELNA capacitors for the audio part, a task that is taken over by the Realtek ALC892 chipset. This is a very competent audio chipset with 8 channel support.

The second difference, perhaps the most important, has to do with the power and supply coverage, which goes from nine to ten stages in 42 A. This change may be due to the new AMD processors that will arrive in November, especially the flagship RYZEN 9 5950X.

Remember that the AMD 400 motherboard will not receive support for the Ryzen 5000 chips until early next year. AMD is aware of this and wants to be much better prepared for the event with these new models.
