AMD Navi 33, Radeon RX 7000 (RDNA 3) GPU would have 4096 streaming processors

The fresh news is about the specs of the AMD Navi 33, the RDNA 3 GPU that would power the RX 7700 and RX 7700 XT. Although it’s still a year away, we’re still getting information about the upcoming RDNA 3 based Navi 3X graphics cards.

The rumor comes from Greymon55, who has already leaked several details about AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA3” and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4000 “Ada Lovelace”. This time, he kept quiet about this update and only updated his Twitter bio with this information.

It’s true. N33=N23+GFX11.

This change in Greymon55’s bio was noticed by user WildCracks, to whom famous leaker Kopite7kimi replied that it was true and that AMD Navi 33 will be an update of Navi 23 with GFX11 architecture, codenamed RDNA 3. Possibly this comment means that Navi 33 will have the same number of WGPs (Work Group Processors) as Navi 23 and that Navi 3X will have twice as many stream processors per WGP as Navi 2X, as this would be the only way to reach 4096 SPs when Navi 23 has 2048 SPs.

Unfortunately, Greymon55 didn’t provide any more details, but these details are enough to speculate that the RX 7700 XT could be faster than the RX 6900 XT thanks to the improvements in the RDNA3 architecture, which will include more efficient SPs, improved RT cores, more Infinity Cache and higher clock speeds thanks to the use of the 5nm process. If this is true, we could even play with an RX 7700 XT at 1440p or even 4K without having to make too much of an investment, which would be excellent news.

As always, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt, as these are rumors and it will be at least a year before we see these graphics cards, and the final specs may still change.
