Lisa Su, president of AMD, wanted us to wake up today with a little “salt” and shake up the atmosphere to target NVIDIA.
After the good results of the Ryzen processors in 2018, AMD now refers to the graphics area for 2019, the year in which they will introduce the new Navi architecture with a 7nm manufacturing process.
According to Lisa Su, “AMD believes they will be very competitive overall, including the high-end graphics market. Obviously, there are new products that stand out from our competition. We will also have our range of new products, and we will be right in the event of a dispute.”
Lisa also confirmed the message by assuring AMD that it plans to be “competitive in high-end graphics” and that the company is building “a long-term project” with a focus on 7nm manufacturing.
Lisa also wanted to talk about the well-known raytracing technology that is so fashionable for the new NVIDIA RTX. For her, this technology is important, but “like all major technologies, it will take time for the ecosystem to adopt it, and we are working very closely with the hardware and software ecosystem and hope that raytracing technology will be an important element, especially when it comes to the mainstream part of the market.
