AMD B650/B650E: mid-range motherboards to be unveiled on Oct. 4
AMD has announced a new webinar focused on its mid-range AM5 motherboard series, a lineup that will be key to competing with Intel’s Raptor Lake offering.
The date is October 4, when AMD will unveil the designs of the mid-range motherboards and confirm all the key features. For this purpose, the company invites marketing managers from ASUS, ASRock, MSI, Gigabyte, and Biostar to present their offerings.
The presentation will last about 60 minutes, during which the various manufacturers will have enough time to showcase their mid-range motherboard models, and AMD will present the specifications of both the B650 and B650E chipsets.
The new B650E and B650 AM5 motherboards, compatible with the recently announced AMD Ryzen™ 7000 series processors, will be unveiled for the first time. With the power of DDR5 memory and PCIe® 5.0 technologies, the AM5 platform offers more performance, power, and capabilities than ever before.”
“In this webinar, you’ll be joined by experts JJ Guerrero, Edwin Chiang, Michiel Berkhout, Kevin Shieh, and Anny Hsu. Learn about upcoming motherboards from partners like ASRock, BIOSTAR, ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE, how their AM5 motherboards bring innovative features to the market and unleash the full power of AMD Ryzen™ 7000 series processors.”
AMD’s idea is to launch two chipsets per segment, with “Extreme” and “Non-Extreme” editions. The difference is that the Extreme chipsets claim to have PCIe 5.0 lanes for both graphics and memory, while the Non-Extreme chipsets only have PCIe 5.0 lanes for one of the two areas, graphics or memory, depending on the manufacturer.
