The year 2018 is the year of affordable NVMe storage, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see new solutions focused on delivering maximum performance. An example of this is the new ADATA SR2000CP, a model that stands out for using the PCI-Express 3.0 x8 interface to achieve high bandwidth.
ADATA SR2000CP is capable of up to 6,000 MB/sec.
ADATA SR2000CP is a new enterprise SSD device designed to meet the most demanding needs. It is based on the form factor of an additional half-height card with a PCI-Express 3.0 x8 interface, and is offered in 2TB, 3.5TB, 4TB, 8TB and 11TB capacities. All of them are manufactured using NAND TLCe memory chips, which is capable of storing up to 3 bits per cell but offers a resistance comparable to MLC type chips. The use of these memories allows the manufacturer to offer a 5-year warranty.
In terms of performance, it is able to offer a sequential read rate of up to 6,000 MB/s and a write rate of 3,800 MB/s. Random performance in 4K is up to 150,000 IOPS. ADATA SR2000CP offers all the essential elements of the enterprise, such as user-configurable over-provisioning, data protection against power loss, native 256-bit AES encryption and 95% relative humidity and 55°C ambient temperature resistance.
Prices have not been announced, as it is to be expected that these will depend on the negotiation of ADATA with potential buyers, they should not reach the usual shops as it is not a device focused on domestic use.
