Xiaomi shows the Mi 8 Youth Edition in golden color next to the iPhone XS. Although this week’s protagonists are clearly the new iPhone XS and XR, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to promote its next smartphone at the expense of advertising the iPhone XS.
The company has released an image of Apple’s new iPhone XS alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition and confirmed the date and place of the smartphone’s launch: September 19 in Chengdu (China).
The new poster of Xiaomi shows the new Mi 8 Youth Edition in gold, a shade that looks very similar to the new gold color of the Apple iPhone XS. At least on the poster, the Mi 8 Youth Edition looks much bigger than the iPhone XS and also has a frameless design.
The Chinese symbols read: “Hello, Dorado. New product series Mi 8. 19.9. See you in Chengdu'”.
The poster doesn’t reveal more details about the smartphone, but through leaks, we know that it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor of 10 nm, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal memory and 3,250 mAh battery.
The biggest difference between the Mi 8 and the Mi 8 Youth Edition seems to be the configuration of the two rear cameras, which are vertical on the Mi 8 and horizontal on the Mi 8 Youth Edition.
It is speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition could be offered at a price of 1,999 Chinese yuan, i.e. around 250 euros, but there is still no official information. Source: MySmartPrice
