This week, all participants in the Windows Insider program will be able to update their operating systems to Build 22621.891 and Build 22623.891 from the Beta Channel. One of the new features introduced in this new test version is the search bar in the Task Manager, as well as fixing several bugs.
The Build 22623.891 of Windows 11 Beta features a search bar at the top of Task Manager to help users quickly find running processes. It can be searched using the filename, PID or publisher name. Microsoft says users will be able to use the shortcut Alt + F to focus the search bar.
In the new trial version of Windows 11 also we can change the default theme of the application: Light, Dark, or Use system settings. The theme you choose will also apply to all dialog boxes it generates; the only exceptions are the Properties dialog box and the Run New Task dialog box.
In addition, Efficiency Mode in Task Manager has also been improved and now displays a dialog box prompting for user confirmation:
Windows 11 Beta Build 22623.891 also brings fixes to multiple bugs. The list of bug fixes includes one that causes the taskbar to crash due to flaws in the explorer.exe process, and another that caused the file explorer to be unable to locate certain folders, including several other fixes.
