Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 PCs. Named after KB4343893, it is intended for systems running Fall Creators Update also called Windows 10 v1709.
KB4343893 is available through the Windows Update Service. It addresses multiple issues while improving the performance of the entire operating system. However, we are not within the patch Tuesday framework that is usually used to address security.
Most corrections are aimed at professionals. For example, a patch targets the Microsoft Edge browser. It fixes a crash problem after defining a DLL rule in AppLocker. Microsoft also fixes a problem that affects the automatic login mode and the key combination “Ctrl + Alt + Delete”.
Windows 10 and KB4343893, improved start menu
At last, we got a patch for everybody. It corrects a bug where the Start menu cannot be opened after a PC update.
KB43438 is unfortunately accompanied by known and not yet solved problems. They’ve been around for some time. One of these causes “channels” to be displayed in English on systems in another language. A special context is required because Device Guard must be activated when attempting to read scheduled tasks. Microsoft assures that a patch is planned, but at the moment there is no workaround.
New updates are planned for September 11th. On the second Tuesday of each month, it will be Microsoft’s big maintenance day called Patch Tuesday.
