Windows 10 April 2018 Update powers 80% of Windows 10 devices

The latest figures from AdDuplex show that Windows 10 v1803 is the most widely used version in the world. They confirm Microsoft’s latest statements on the subject.

Recently Microsoft has put forward its latest evolution of Windows 10. In one intervention, the group explained that April 2018 Update was, to date, the safest and most rapid upgrade on the issue of its deployment.

This second point is confirmed by the AdDuplex figures.

They concern the period from June 2018. To date, Windows 10 v1803 runs on 78.1% of Windows 10 computers. Clearly 80% of Windows 10 computers run under this version.

This situation is reassuring on two points. It allows Microsoft to limit market fragmentation while ensuring longer support around security.

Fall Creators Update ranks second with a market share of 15.7%. Surprisingly Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is not the previous upgrade, is in third place. Its presence is estimated at 2.5% against 2.4% for Creators Update.

The future of this operating system interests a lot of people. Redstone 5, currently under development, occupies 0.2% of the market. It is offered through the Windows Insiders program.

The most dynamic OEMs to offer their April 2018 Update customers are HP (24.45%), Dell (18.45%) and Lenovo (12.3%).

Windows April 10, 2018 Update is available for manual download since April 30. Its automatic deployment via Windows Update began on May 8. In June 2018, Microsoft completed its wave deployment by opening all the valves. This means that any Windows 10 PC can get this upgrade.

Since its launch, several cumulative updates have been published. The latest one, KB4284848 brings a long list of bug fixes.
