WhatsApp puts an end to calls from strangers in the app. A feature that was expected for some time and finally makes its entry into the messaging application. A new privacy panel is released in which we can disable calls from strangers, so no one can call us if they are not in our contacts.
WhatsApp blocks calls from strangers
The privacy of the application is significantly improved with this setting. This new feature is already available to many app users.
Improved privacy
In the privacy section in WhatsApp new options have been introduced. Within this section is the calls section, where we now find the possibility of blocking calls from strangers. This setting is the messaging application’s way of cutting through spam calls. No one who is not in our address book will be able to call us using the app.
The call is not actually blocked, but silenced. It will not ring when the call enters the app, but we will see that someone we do not know has called us. So we can easily ignore that call and then block that number, if we consider that it is spam or comes from a country where we do not know anyone or it is very likely to be spam.
Along with this improvement, WhatsApp has introduced a new privacy panel. It is a panel similar to the one in other Meta apps, where we can manage everything related to our privacy in one place. These two new features are already being launched in the messaging app, available to most users. Just make sure you have the latest version of the app on your phone.
