Virtual reality enhances and gets waterproof to offer you an immersive sliding experience. You can now slide in a water with a VR helmet on your head in one of Europe’s largest water parks. Immersive and fun guaranteed!
Virtual reality helmets are fragile devices that do not tolerate water and even offers less immersion in swimming pools. The Galaxy Erding water park in Germany has developed a waterproof RV helmet and a program for water sliding in a virtual world. The pleasure of sliding multiplied by virtual reality.
A water slide with a VR helmet
For two euros per slide, the Galaxy Erding water park allows its users to enjoy a virtual reality immersion while descending a water slide. The course is full of ultrasonic sensors so that the device knows exactly where the user is and offers him the images adapted to the sliding sensations he is experiencing. New VR experiences are regularly offered to encourage sliding enthusiasts to return.
In concrete terms, the helmet has been designed to be waterproof to a depth of a few meters. It is actually a Gear VR helmet that uses a Samsung Galaxy S8. The headset charging system is wireless. Note that the Galaxy Erding water slide is not the first to offer VR slides. Last year we already told you about a Swiss water park with a similar VR attraction.
