TSMC is already on track to develop 2nm node, while 3nm planned for 2022

TSMC has always been at the forefront of semiconductor manufacturing processes, and after confirming plans to introduce its 3 nm process with a density of 250 million transistors per mm2 in 2022, the company also confirmed that it is already starting to develop its 2nm process.

Obviously, the process is still at an early stage of development, so there are not many new developments to follow beyond its existence. The company has not yet made the transition to 5nm, and there will be 3nm to follow, so there is still a long way to go to see this 2nm process, and we will have to wait even longer to find out the details.

In the meantime, this year we will see an increase in products to 7nm+ and the first products to 5nm, a process that will have a much stronger presence next year with the arrival of chips from AMD and Nvidia, which will join Apple, which will launch its A14 at 5nm this year. Then in 2022, we will see the 5nm+ and the first products at 3nm, so we will see many changes and improvements in a very short time.
