The new Toshiba XS700 are built to 95mm x 75mm x 11mm, so they are slightly larger than a 2.5-inch hard drive. For its manufacture, a high-quality aluminium body has been used, and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB Type-C interface has been placed, which ensures a high-speed file transfer, and is reversible, making it easier to use.

Inside is Toshiba’s own NAND 3D BiCS TLC NAND 3D flash memory technology, along with a Phision S11 controller without DRAM cache and connected to the memory via a SATA 6 Gbps interface via a VIA Labs VL715 chip. Toshiba XS700 is offered in a single version with a capacity of 240 GB, which is capable of a sequential data transfer rate of up to 530 MB/s in reading and 480 MB/s in write.

It is expected to go on sale at the end of this month, at a price of approximately $200 and with a three-year warranty.
