We had already forgotten about the AMD Ryzen 3 5100 and Ryzen 7 5700 processors, originally announced for mid-2022, as only the Ryzen 5 5500 6-core, 12-threaded Ryzen 5 5500 made it to market.
However, according to a Gigabyte BIOS, it has been confirmed that the Ryzen 3 5100 and Ryzen 7 5700 are coming soon for socket AM4. These processors share the codenameCezanne, as opposed to the usual Vermeer used in the Ryzen 5000 family, implying a smaller amount of L3 cache.
In essence, these processors are APUs without the functional graphics, which makes them more economical solutions as they are a single monolithic chip. Many times these CPUs are recycled, which came out with problems in their graphics unit.
The AMD Ryzen 3 5100
The AMD Ryzen 3 5100 is a basic 4-core, 8-thread processor, with a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and with turbo reaches 4.2 GHz. Being Zen 3 architecture, each core has 512 KB of L2 cache, totaling 2 MB of L2 and 8 MB of L3 cache. Its TDP is 65W. This processor appears to be the successor to the Ryzen 3 4100, which shares frequencies but is based on Zen 2 and has half the L3 cache (4 MB). So at the low-end, the Ryzen 3 5100 offers an interesting upgrade. Pricing is not yet known, but ideally it should be around $110 and maybe a little less.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700
On the other hand, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700 is an 8-core, 16-thread processor, also based on the Zen 3 architecture and manufactured on TSMC’s N7 node. It has a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and with boost it reaches 4.6 GHz, with 4 MB of L2 cache (512 KB per core) and 16 MB of L3 cache, half that of a Vermeer-based Ryzen 7 5700X. The TDP is also 65W. Basically, this is a Ryzen 7 5700G without the integrated graphics section. Pricing is still unknown, but considering that the Ryzen 7 5700X costs around $200, it is likely that the cache trimming will put the Ryzen 7 5700 around $170/160 maybe.
Although both processors are expected to be close to market, no exact or approximate dates have yet been leaked.
