NVIDIA has just introduced the second generation of Tesla based on tensor cores. This graphics card is only used by data centers. Last September, NVIDIA launched the first generation of Tesla that promised to revolutionize data centers. In the end, second generation technology didn’t take long to become even more powerful.

The new Tesla T4 features 64GB of ultra-fast GDDR6 VRAM memory and uses 4 T4 cards in a deployable server rack, promising 260 TFlops of computing power in the FP16, according to the NVIDIA slide-sharing presentation.

The NVIDIA T4 GPU accelerates a variety of workloads in the cloud, including high-performance computing, deep learning inference and training, machine learning, data analysis, and graphics. Based on the new NVIDIA Turing architecture and a small, low-power 70-watt PCIe format, the T4 is optimized for mainstream computing environments with tensor cores and new multi-precision RT cores

The card uses NVIDIA’s TU104 graphics processor, 16GB of GDDRT6 memory, and a maximum power limit of 70W so it can be easily cooled with air. It will support 8x and 16x PCIe. With this product, NVIDIA continues its strategy to dominate the large data center industry.
