Sketch AR: An app to learn to draw with Augmented Reality

There are many tutorials and online videos that teach us the basics of drawing. But learning to draw is a different story. Getting the technique requires time and practice.

Sketch AR wants to facilitate the process by helping us to draw. Even if we do not yet have the necessary skills for this purpose. To do this, it combines the potential of artificial intelligence and augmented reality.

The dynamic that this app proposes is very simple. So, we just have to choose a blank canvas, which can be a wall, a paper or any other surface that meets the requirements.

Then, we just have to choose the drawing that we want to make, and use the camera of the mobile so that the app shows us the design that we should draw, as we see in the image:

But, remember that the purpose of the app is to teach us to draw, and not just trace a drawing already done. So, to fulfill that purpose, one of the latest updates added a section called SketchAR School, which brings together a collection of drawing lessons, which will guide us step by step, to create the sketch.

This app is available for iOS and Android, as well as a version for HoloLens. Depending on the type of project we wish to carry out, we will need specific mobile devices, so it is necessary that we review the requirements before using the app
