Samsung’s upcoming Virtual Reality (VR) glasses, nicknamed HMD Odyssey+, first appeared in the FCC database, along with key specifications and features. It will succeed HMD Odyssey last year and will be the company’s second independent VR headset.
Samsung HMD Odyssey+ glasses are available in two versions
Although past leaks revealed almost everything we want to know about Samsung’s future VR glasses, the latest report is here to add to the story. The device appeared on the Bluetooth certification website and revealed another feature.
The document does not reveal much, except that two models have gone through the certification process with similar numbers: XE800ZBA and XQ800ZBA. We have already seen the first on the FCC website, but the second remains a mystery. This could mean that the Korean giant is preparing two variants of its virtual reality glasses, while Bluetooth connectivity could mean that a gamepad or other game controller can be connected directly to the glasses.
In any case, the Bluetooth and FCC certifications indicate an imminent start, which could take place at the IFA 2018 at the end of August.
Although virtual reality has not yet reached video game offerings, many manufacturers still bet on why they believe it is the future and nobody wants to be left out.
