Samsung Galaxy Book2 is a new tablet that works with the Windows 10 operating system: It includes a 12-inch panel with AMOLED technology and a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels, but the most important thing is that it leaves Intel chips aside in favor of Qualcomm.

Samsung Galaxy Book2 is a device powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 ARM processor instead of an Intel processor. This means that the new model has all the advantages and disadvantages of Windows in the ARM. You can expect a long battery life, a sleek, lightweight, fanless design and built-in support for 4G LTE as well as WiFi and Bluetooth.

The system ships with Windows 10 S operating system, which means that you can only run third-party applications if they are downloaded from the Microsoft Store. You can upgrade to the full version of Windows 10 for free, allowing you to install additional applications. However, 64-bit applications developed for x86 chips are still beyond the limits, and some 32-bit applications may run slower than you would expect.

Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 850 should deliver a 30 percent performance boost for Windows PCs. That sounds like a big leap forward, but we’re not sure it’s enough to justify spending $1,000 on this type of device unless we actually evaluate the battery life and capacities that are always associated with gross performance.

The tablet has a fingerprint sensor, two C-type USB ports, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack. In the Photography area, we have two cameras, one of 8 megapixels on the back and another of 5 megapixels on the front. One of the key points is to know its performance in everyday life, as these 4 GB RAM cannot provide the performance that both the user and the processor need, and it will also be interesting to know the response of this new Snapdragon 850.

Samsung Galaxy Book2 Price and Availability

Currently, Galaxy Book2 is sold only in the United States, where it is distributed through AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, who will sell it with LTE data plans. Its price will be $999.99 and will be available from November 2nd next year.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Book2 has been renovated to be lighter and, as they say, made with higher quality materials to ensure longer durability. One of the innovations is the rear support hinge system, that is very similar to the Surface Pro, which allows us to place the unit in several positions to work more comfortably by adjusting the angle of the screen according to our mood.

It also comes with a keyboard that, like the Surface Pro, is magnetically connected to the lower bezel. We also have S-pen support, which allows us to take notes when we can’t use the keyboard, as well as features that help us get the most out of it. The good news is that both accessories are included in the Galaxy Book2.
