Samsung could manufacture the Apple A13 processor

Samsung has not manufactured processors for Apple for almost three years now. That has undoubtedly meant the loss of a client of importance to the Koreans. But, it seems that things could change with the Apple A13, the next processor from the American company, which will arrive next year. Since it seems that TSMC, the current producer of Apple processors, is having problems.

It seems that the application of the technology called Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV) is causing problems for TSMC, which has decided to wait until the arrival of chips manufactured at 5 nanometers to use it. Something that’s given the Koreans a head start.

Will Apple use Samsung processors again?

But it turns out that Samsung is much more advanced than TSMC in the use of Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV) technology. Since they are prepared to integrate the same in processors that have been manufactured in processes of 7 nm. Something TSMC can’t do at the moment. And this would put them at an advantage in this respect. In addition, the Korean firm is working on further improvements.

It has been confirmed that Samsung is working on an improved version of the InFO (integrated fan-out) technology currently owned by TSCM. So they would surpass the firm in this respect as well. Looking for Apple to decide to make its processor with the Koreans.

At the moment, it is not yet known who will produce the processor of Cupertino’s signature. Production is likely to be split between several companies. So we’ll have to see if Samsung can finally recover a major customer like this one.
