PowerColor has been bringing joy since 1997, and these RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 may be just what you’re looking for, in a size that doesn’t exceed 2.5 slots.
The assemblers continue to present their Radeon RX 6000 series. This time, PowerColor is a manufacturer that focuses only on AMD Radeon graphics cards, so it is typical to see them in every release. As a novelty, it brings a quite high frequency up to 2.250 MHz.
It seems that AMD has decided to treat everyone the same, so we will see the same design in every assembler. The difference will be marked by the inside of each GPU, a section that can be modified by any vendor (without leaving the guide).
Today’s protagonists are the PowerColor RX 6800 XT and 6800, with a design of 2.5 and 2 slots respectively. The brand has not gone into detail about their heatsink and has focused only on their performance. Both would have these frequencies:
RX 6800 XT | RX 6800 | |
Base | 1825 MHz | 1700 MHz |
Game | 2015 MHz | 1815 MHz |
Boost | 2250 MHz | 2105 MHz |
Like the other GPUs, both are equipped with 16 GB GDDR6, a memory clock of 16 Gbps, and a bandwidth of 256 bits. Their interface is PCIe 4.0 and offers the following connectors:
- 1 x HDMI 2.1.
- 2 x DisplayPort 1.4.
- 1 x USB-C.
On the other hand, these RX 6000 will not be oversized, as they have a 3-fan design that cools the chip as well as the hottest parts of the PCB. The power supply recommendations are in line with the other GPUs presented:
The PowerColor RX 6800 XT and 6800 will give us access to the AMD technologies that gamers are so interested in. We’re talking about AMD FidelityFX and AMD Radeon Anti-Lag.
Like the first one, it is open-source software consisting of 5 tools for the RDNA architecture. It is basically a tool for developers with the goal of achieving maximum image quality in video games without sacrificing performance.
The second one is a function that aims to reduce input latency and balance the CPU with the GPU, thus reducing the load on the processor. It can reduce the input latency by almost 1 FPS, which allows us to enjoy a gaming experience without delays.
Finally, we will have the famous AMD FreeSync, which is included in all RX 6800 series graphics cards. If you have a monitor with this VRR, you’re lucky, because you can turn it on and enjoy an experience with no shutter or tearing, low latency, and great HDR.
PowerColor has not yet announced the price of its RX 6800, so we’ll soon know how much it will cost. Again, we were impressed by AMD’s design policy, because Sapphire, GIGABYTE, ASRock, and PowerColor all have the same GPUs, how can we tell them apart?
The only thing that changes is the size of the graphics card of each assembler and the product warranty.
