ASUS introduces its Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 with ROG STRIX OC, LC and TUF Gaming variants

ASUS introduced its line of custom Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800 graphics cards, including the ROG STRIX, ROG STRIX LC (liquid-cooled), and TUF Gaming versions. The models confirm that the manufacturers are well advanced in preparing cooling designs for AMD’s Big Navi.

The Radeon RX 6800 series ASUS graphics cards range from air-cooled to liquid-cooled versions. The company is also the first to introduce this type of liquid cooling into AMD’s GPUs, with the LC model being the most notable.

The first and most eye-catching Radeon is the Asus ROG Strix LC of the RX 6800 XT, which uses a liquid cooling system with a 120mm dual fan system, which is characterized by a high airflow in the aluminum cooler, while a blower fan is responsible for cooling the remaining components of the PCB to prevent heat buildup on the GPU.

On the other hand, we have the RX 6800 XT and 6800 under the ROG Strix variant, the air-cooled flagship model, which has the same design as the GeForce RTX 30 series except for the RADEON logo under the central fan.

This GPU occupies 2.9 PCI expansion slots and is cooled by a dense aluminum cooler that is interspersed with multiple copper heat pipes that cool the components. This board also features a triple fan configuration with axial heat dissipation technology.

In addition, and since this was not required, the boards have RGB LED lighting, and both models (6800 XT and 6800) are powered via 2 PCI Express 8+8 pin connectors, just like the reference model.

Finally, we have the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800, which retain the triple fan design and the same size, but at the expense of a much less flashy design. This model promises great durability because it has been factory tested for 144 hours and uses heavy-duty capacitors. As for the lighting, we only have RGB for the logo in the upper right corner.
