RTX 3090 performance is expected to improve by 50%, Time Spy expected over 10,000 points!

There is indeed a very important rumor about the alleged performance of the RTX 3090, and some credible filters on Twitter have commented that the performance of the NVIDIA RTX 3090 is reportedly up to 50% better than the RTX 2080 Ti. They expect the Time Spy Extreme benchmark to reach almost 10,000 points.

It’s clear that NVIDIA will continue to hold its performance throne in the gaming graphics market with its next-generation RTX 3000 series, even though there are rumors that AMD’s Big Navi will be slightly faster than the RTX 2080 Ti (and still offer great value for money).

NVIDIA RTX 3090 will deliver a massive 50% performance boost

Although the filters in question are very reliable and they are people who have successfully filtered the specifications and nomenclature of the upcoming NVIDIA graphics cards, even they told us that this is not yet concrete. The final clocks have not yet been determined, but an increase of about 50% is quite plausible.

This will be a big step forward in performance, probably driven not only by the reduction of nodes but also by some impressive architectural improvements.

An NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti (reference model) has about 6300 points in Time Spy Extreme and a 50% increase over this value would be 9450 points. If the card has *no* overclocking permission, we should expect the overclockers to break the 10,000 point barrier within a few days after the GPUs reach the buyers.

If this is the case, virtual reality (VR) headsets could finally deliver the coveted 4K @ 90 fps experience. Even at 2.5x the resolution of the Oculus Quest, the RTX 3090 card could easily power VR devices like the HP Reverb G2.

Of course, NVIDIA may choose more conservative clocks, so it’s best not to get too excited at this stage. We will keep you informed.
