Rockstar Games aims to hit a big show with GTA VI by blending previous games

After years of rumors, Rockstar Games confirmed the existence of GTA VI last month. The title has been in development for quite some time.

According to Michael Pachter, development on GTA VI began in earnest between 2014 and 2015. In plain English, this means that the development teams have been at work for at least six years. The reason for such a long development time is said to be the size of the project. Rockstar Games would love to hit it big with GTA VI. It is said that the game would feature the locations of all the previous parts. The content would be so extensive that it could offer at least 500 hours of gameplay.

“These guys are working hard to create incredible content […] if I understand correctly it’s going to be a mix of Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City (i.e. GTA III), Europe, and London. You’ll be able to go anywhere on those continents and you’ll have missions that take you to all those places.”

GTA VI, nothing until 2024 or 2025

GTA VI is shaping up to be a very ambitious project. Some analysts have pointed out that Take-Two’s latest financial forecast calls for a possible release of GTA VI in the fiscal year 2024.

In the meantime, we’ll have to be patient before we can enjoy the very first trailer. This isn’t the first time GTA VI has been announced as a “huge” game. The first report on the subject dates back to April 2020, when it was said that Rockstar was “hard at work” on the next installment in its GTA series, aka GTA 6, and that its development teams had been at work since 2014 with huge resources available.
