AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, says that the choppy images of Resident Evil Village during the Sony event were caused by temporary problems with the PlayStation 5 optimization of the game.

“Let me be clear, I’m talking about Resident Evil Village. The game had a terrible PS5 event display optimizer with a horrific frame rate, something that persists on the PlayStation 5. It’s perfect on Xbox Series X and PC, but they’re having trouble stabilizing it on the Sony console (Sony had a regulation to record PS5 event gameplay on a PS5), which caused this problem,” said Dusk Golem in a ResetERA thread.

Dusk says Capcom will customize and optimize the FPS of the new Resident Evil before the game’s launch in 2021. Capcom has already promised that Resident Evil Village will eliminate load times thanks to the PS5’s high-end PCIe 4.0 SSD.

“They will optimize it 100% before launch, the RE engine is highly customizable, but the version of the game they showed worked perfectly on PC and Xbox Series X,” Dusk added.

When Capcom announced the game at the PS5 press conference in June, they said they would be sharing more information about the game in the coming months.
