Capcom is reportedly developing a remake version of Resident Evil 4 with Studio M-Two under the direction of Tastusya Minami. The game is scheduled for release in 2022.
For two consecutive years since 2019, Capcom has re-released Resident Evil 2 and 3 game remakes. Now the news is going around that Capcom is preparing a remake for Resident Evil 4. The news comes from Windows Central and VGC. Resident Evil 4 remake is under development by M-Two under the direction of Tastusya Minami, former director of PlatinumGames.
Recently it was reported that M-Two received the blessing of Resident Evil 4’s director, Shinji Mikami, who refused to lead the project. However, Mikami continued to provide informal instructions and advice for the development of this remake. Previously, M-Two had also contributed to the recently released Resident Evil 3 remake.
Resident Evil 4 remake is planned since 2018 and is scheduled for release in 2022. This makes sense, as it is reported that Capcom is also preparing Resident Evil 8. Resident Evil 4 itself was released in 2005 and has had the highest sales among Capcom games. According to Metacritic’s review page, the game sold 7.5 million copies on various platforms.
Over the past 15 years, Resident Evil 4 has been re-released dozens of times, but never completely revamped. Shortly after its GameCube debut, the game was released with new content for PlayStation 2. In 2007 it was released in a Wii version with motion control. In 2011 the HD remastered version for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC was released. Five years later, Resident Evil 4 was released again for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
