Razer Nari Ultimate vibrates on the ears by using hypersense technology

Razer introduces new wireless headset with hypersense technology, that is the Razer Nari Ultimate. Audible effects of explosions, collisions, shots: The Razer Nari Ultimate is an unusual wireless headset that vibrates with the ambient sounds through integrated motors. That creates real scene feelings while playing games. The Nari series also has two other counterparts, not vibrating but cheaper.

Razer presents its wireless headphones: In the video and in its usual comic style, the manufacturer of gaming peripherals shows the Nari and the Nari Essential. The Nari Ultimate is another model that uses vibration motors in the earplugs to give haptic feedback on noises, for example, when the spacecraft’s propulsion is activated or when the impulse rifle is fired in a game. Razer calls this function hypersense.

The three headphones are based on a similar platform. According to the manufacturer, they cover frequencies in the range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The impedance of the headphones is about 32 ohms at 1 kHz. The wireless headset does not transmit via Bluetooth, but via a patented 2.4 GHz signal with USB receiver. Bluetooth is not very suitable for gaming due to the remarkable audio latency.

Headphones in stereo configuration use THX Spatial Audio. This technique aims to convey the illusion of a 360-degree spatial sound. Games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gets precise spatial sound though through integrated techniques like HRTF.

24 hours maximum battery life

The Nari Essential is intended for beginners. At 40 mm, the speaker drivers are smaller than the 50 mm drivers of the other two models. The headphones are the same size on all models. The Nari Essential’s microphone is connected to a flexible hose, while the other two use a rigid, retractable microphone. Razer gives the Nari Essential’s battery a life of 16 hours.

The Nari and Nari Ultimate are identical except for the vibration motor. Both headphones have RGB lighting and a larger battery. It lasts 24 hours without LED illumination and 14 hours with illumination. When haptic feedback is activated, the battery life of the Nari Ultimate is reduced to eight hours. Alternatively, all headphones can also be used wired via a 3.5 mm jack cable.
