AMD attacks the GeForce GTX 1650 from Nvidia with its future Radeon RX 5500. The battle will be fought in the segment 150 to 160 € with a little optimism. This may explain Nvidia’s decision to upgrade its GeForce GTX 1650 to a super version.

A Navi GPU based on the 7 nm RDNA architecture is included on the board. It is equipped with 1408 flow processors, 88 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Its frequency is calibrated at 1670 MHz compared to 1717 MHz in game mode and 1845 MHz in boost mode. The device contains a total of 4 GB GDDR6 with 14 Gbit/s, which are operated via a 128-bit memory bus. The device is supplied with a 150 Watt heat housing and requires an 8-pin PCIe plug for power supply.

In terms of performance, AMD announces a significant increase in performance. Its solution is typically able to deliver Full HD with the latest AAA titles. The manufacturer promises 60 frames per second and more versus 90 frames per second or more with Esports titles. In both cases, the GeForce GTX 1650 would be outdated.

The latest leaks speak of a start on 12 December. The card will be positioned in AMD’s “Performance” offering. It will be more powerful than a Radeon RX 560, but less fast than a Radeon RX 5700.
