The CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, Ian Bell, has confirmed that Project CARS 3 will be announced very soon and that it will be a big step ahead of Project CARS 2, a commentary accompanied by qualifiers such as “revolutionary” and “groundbreaking”.
You don’t have to be a genius to realize that Bell tacitly implies that Project CARS 3 is being developed with PS5 and Xbox Scarlett in mind and that he will use the potential of these new generation consoles to deliver the “groundbreaking” experience he boasts about.
Project CARS 3 will offer higher graphics performance
Ian Bell is known for his tendency to raise exaggerated expectations, and this first confirmation of CARS 3 was no exception. According to management, the games were “200% better than Project CARS 2. Yes, it is a very vague description accompanied by a percentage to form a “bundle”, but if we go a little deeper and draw the ends of previous information, we can draw some interesting conclusions:
In January 2019, it was confirmed that the CARS 3 project was at an early stage of development, so it will not arrive this year and perhaps next year. This fits with this approach to the new generation we were talking about.
The higher graphics performance of Xbox Scarlett and PS5 will allow Slightly Mad Studios to offer higher graphics quality than the two previous versions, both in terms of geometry and textures, graphic effects and resolution.
