We have confirmed that PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Project Scarlett will have an SSD hard drive, which is very important when running a video game on the console, but what will be the specific change for both consoles?
Remedy, developer of Control, welcomed the addition of the SSD in the PS5 and Project Scarlett, due to the advantages of gameplay.

Mikael Kasurinen and Brooke Maggs, director of the video game and narrative designer of Control respectively, developed the main changes for the PS5 and the successor to Xbox One.
“Well, having an SSD is fantastic because it’s about fixing many of the games’ transmission problems. I’m with all the other developers, I hate those slow-moving moves where you have to wait until a new part of the world is loaded. The uncomfortable tunnels you have to go through, either in or out. Getting rid of all that is good news for everyone,” they said to GamingBolt.
“And of course we all love the most powerful hardware. It allows us to do visual and creative things, to be more eye-catching, etc. Especially because as a studio we fight for really high fidelity. We must not forget that we are also there for technical and optical performance. So I think it’s good news,” they added.
