Western Digital offers PC SN720 and PC SN520 New NVMe Drives. Western Digital keeps itself busy at the Mobile World Congress by presenting its storage solutions of all kinds. That includes the new SSD PC SN720 and PC SN520 memories in NVMe M.2 format.
PC SN720 and PC SN520 are announced with speeds of up to 3,400 MB/s
The two units comes from Western Digital. That seems to use the company’s most advanced controller.
PC SN720
The PC SN720 supposedly reaches read speeds of up to 3,400 MB/s, saturating the PCIe Gen3 x 4 connection. This particular model will be available in capacities ranging from 256 GB to 2 TB and uses an M.2 form factor. 2280. Also, it has a resistance rating of 500 TBW with a generous 5-year warranty.
PC SN520
The PC SN520, on the other hand, operates at half the speed of the PC SN720 with up to 1,700 MB/s. It will be available in capacities ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB. And that takes advantage of the PCIe Gen 3 x 2 interface. Unlike the PC SN720, the SN520 PC will be available in M.2 2230, M.2 2242 and M.2 sizes 2280 depending on the capacity. Its resistance index is also slightly lower with 300 TBW, although it shares the same warranty period of 5 years.
How much do the PC SN720 and the PC SN520 NVMe SSDs cost?
Western Digital has not revealed the prices of both NVMe SSD memory models. So we’ll have to wait a few weeks to get to know them, as well as their launch dates.
