Parallels Mac Management 7 for Microsoft SCCM makes it easy for IT Administrators to manage Mac devices with SCCM

Parallels today launched Parallels Mac Management 7 for Microsoft SCCM that includes new external management enhancements and efficiency tools that streamline the daily tasks of IT administrators.

In addition, companies with complex network configurations now have an easier alternative to offline macOS imaging via external USB. The bootloader and Parallels Task Sequence Wizard can be placed on a USB stick, while files remain at the distribution points without the need to configure IP helpers or to have PXE and Netboot servers.

Parallels Mac Management 7 for Microsoft SCCM now includes a number of new features, such as an additional task sequence and installer support, that improve efficiency, including:

  • Internet-based Mac client management: Easily manage Mac computers when they are not connected to the corporate network but have a standard Internet connection.
  • Offline macOS image management from USB: The bootloader and Parallels Task Sequence Assistant are located on the USB, while the rest of the OSD files remain at the Distribution Points.
  • Non-OSD Task Sequence Support: Improve efficiency by creating task sequences that do not include the `Deploy macOS’ step, which was mandatory in previous versions. IT administrators can now deploy multiple software packages or configure Mac devices through an SCCM workflow mechanism, just as they can when managing Windows PCs.
  • Send Hardware Inventory on Demand: IT administrators can now start the Mac hardware inventory collection from the Microsoft SCCM console.
  • New Installer with Onsite Upgrade Support: Optimizes Parallels Mac Management deployment and adds support for an on-site upgrade from an earlier version.
  • Manual Mac client authentication: Improve the user experience while reducing unnecessary workloads for IT administrators by manually initiating authentication through the System Preferences applet.

Parallels Mac Management 7 for Microsoft SCCM enables IT administrators and system architects (as well as CIOs) to quickly and cost-effectively extend their existing Microsoft SCCM infrastructure to control Macs and PCs from anywhere via a familiar interface. IT departments now have more tools at their disposal to increase security, efficiency and even help drive business decisions without the cost of additional infrastructure.
