Oracle, a commercial database software company and provider of integrated cloud applications and platforms, is also optimistic about current growth in 4G and 5G, as it plans to sell 4G and 5G core network services to mobile operators.
According to media reports, the long-awaited 5G has been commercially available since last year and its coverage will continue to grow in the coming years, but 4G users will continue to dominate in numbers for some time.
According to external media reports, Oracle plans to sell 4G and 5G core network services to mobile operators later this year that will run within the Oracle Cloud, which may mean that operators can regularly pay for the services they need.
Travis Russell from Oracle, who recently also spoke about the benefits of cloud-based 5G core network services, speaking at a conference explained that 5G is actually being developed based on network applications, 5G is built on the cloud and is, therefore, a perfect candidate for the software-as-a-service model, where operators do not need to buy equipment to handle peak traffic times, and through software and services, operators can make adjustments as needed and pay only for what they actually use.
Travis Russell also mentioned that as one of the largest cloud computing service providers in the world, they are the only one to offer 5G core network services, and while cloud computing service providers such as Microsoft and Amazon, who also sell telecommunications services through partners, offer their services over their own network with their own supply chain, with the hardware built in-house and they also build the chipset themselves.
