Nvidia will announce its Ampere architecture in March during GTC 2020

According to a recent report, industry sources have indicated that Nvidia already has an announcement date for its new Ampere GPU architecture: the GTC 2020, which will take place March 22nd to 26th.

Unfortunately, this is the only clue to the rumor, and there was no information about the architecture itself. However, Nvidia’s own CEO mentioned that GPUs at 7nm will soon be available, and a recent report by an analyst group recommended investing in Nvidia now, as “it will have its first releases at 7nm within the next 9 months”.

Other ampere rumors mention that it will have 50% more performance at half the power consumption compared to Turing, thanks to architecture improvements and the reduction to 7nm. There was also another rumor that we will see the architecture announcement in March, adding that we will not see products based on this architecture until June. What happens as we approach that date will depend on whether or not these rumors are true.
